Come Learn the basics of raising chicks from day one in the brooder box to the first day in the coop.  We will discuss breed selection, basic care and set-up, common problems and transitioning to the coop.  $10 per person.  Pre-payment is required to sign up.

 

 

Rain Barrel Workshop

Sunday, January 29th 5-7pm

$90/person for barrel, $25/person for platform (optional)
Join us at Agrarian for a rain barrel workshop where we will have all the tools, hardware, barrels and instruction needed to complete a working rain barrel. You will leave the workshop with a finished barrel and for an additional $25 you can make a pressure treated platform for your barrel. Join us at Agrarian to learn everything you need to know about keeping a small flock of chickens right in your very own backyard. We’ll discuss everything from breeds to coops, feed to predators and everything in between. You will leave this class with extensive knowledge and ready to start your very own chicken farm.

How to Butcher a Chicken

Sunday, April 2nd 5-7pm

$10 per person
Join us at Agrarian to learn the proper ways of butchering a chicken. Whether you’ve got an old hen past her laying days, an unexpected rooster or just simply need to thin your flock a bit, bring your bird and we’ll show you how it’s done. We’ll have all the necessary supplies and equipment and you will leave with a butchered and cleaned bird.
