What is permaculture, anyway???

Permaculture is a portmanteau of "permanent" and "culture" or "agriculture."  The term, coined by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren, refers to the conscious design of human systems - particularly those for food production - in accordance with a set of ethics and principles meant to mimic and exist in harmony with nature.  The practice of permaculture can increase the diversity, efficiency, stability, and resilience of human systems and living spaces.  We encourage you to come by the market to learn about the permaculture design principles in more detail and connect with a community of practitioners in Indy!

What is the market schedule?

The Permaculture Pop-Up Market is currently planned to take place on the third Sunday of each month between April and October, from 12:30 – 3:30 PM.  As a pop-up event, though, the schedule and location may be subject to change.

How much does it cost to be vendor?

Booth space is $20 per market.  There is an all-season discount available.

What is the deadline to be a vendor?

Vendor space is limited and spaces are allocated on a first-come basis.  Food and produce vendors must submit a vendor application and registration fee no later than two weeks ahead of the first market they wish to attend (for the April 21st market, applications must be submitted by April 7th).  Non-food vendors must submit an application and registration fee one week prior to the first market they wish to attend.

How do I learn more about the market and apply to be a vendor?

You can find the vendor information and application packet here.  The form can be returned to Agrarian in person or by email to agrarianindy@gmail.com.

Where should I park to attend the market and workshops?

On-site parking is limited.  There is ample free street parking in the neighborhood and $5 parking available on Winthrop Avenue, just across the Monon Trail from Agrarian.

I want to attend a workshop, what do I do?

Pre-registration is required for the workshops to ensure that we have enough materials for all attendees.  You can register on our Workshops Page.  The deadline for workshop registration will be one week prior to each market to allow sufficient time for Agrarian staff to order and prepare workshop materials.

What happens if it rains?

The market committee will monitor weather forecasts and make a determination about weather-based cancellation, should the forecast indicate inclement weather.  Markets may still be held in the event of mildly unfavorable weather.
