Easter Eggers are a hybrid breed with wide color variation that can lay eggs from olive green to turquoise blue. The cross that results in the Silked Easter Egger means that some will also lay cream or tan eggs. Easter Eggers often have a muff or beard, and this hybrid may also have feathered legs, adding to their unique appearance. Feathers on the silked variety will be much finer than typical feathers, and the silked appearance will show up as birds develop. Note: Since the trait does not breed true, about 50% of chicks will develop normal feathers and 50% will be silked. Like their flat-feathered counterparts, you can expect 4-6 medium to large colorful eggs each week. This breed is friendly and hardy, but does tend to get broody on occasion.
