Raising Chicks

Come learn the basics of raising chicks!  This class will prepare you for everything from taking your chicks home to moving them into their coop.  We'll cover breed selection, setting up their brooder, basic health and nutrition, development milestones, and more.


$15/person, kids 12 and under may attend for free.  Feel free to bring a brownbag dinner with you.

Homemade Cosmetics

Body Butter & Salt Soak

It’s time for a little pampering!  Learn how to create a luscious body butter and soothing bath soak using lovely herbs and salts.  You will work together with Sharon Patterson of Azure's Secret to create these products.  The perfect make-and-take gift for a special person on your Holiday list, or simply to pamper yourself!  All ingredients will be provided.  You will leave with a jar of whipped body butter and a bag of Salt Soak.

Keeping Backyard Chickens

The Agrarian team will equip you with everything you need to know about keeping a small flock of chickens in your own backyard. You'll learn the basics about chicken breeds, what to feed your flock, chicken coop necessities, how to keep them safe from predators, and more.

Interested in adding some variety to your backyard flock?  Come learn about raising quail!  Jayde Grisham of Purdue Extension Marion County will walk you through everything you need to consider to add these tiny but efficient producers to your homestead.

Introduction to Beekeeping

Peg Murphy of Haldale Honey will share all the basics of beekeeping along with tips and insight from her own extensive experience maintaining hives throughout Hamilton County.  You'll leave this class feeling ready to start your own hive this spring!

Heather Figurelli of Fig's Farm will walk you through her family's journey of converting part of their 11-acre farm into native plantings.  You'll hear about their process, the partners who helped make it possible, and tips and tricks for bringing native landscaping to your own property - no matter the size.
